Harleen Sharma tops Punjab with 646/650 marks
Overall pass percentage at 94.52%, Girls outshine boys
11 May, 2026 – Chandigarh : The Punjab School Education Board declared the Class 10 matriculation examination results on Monday, with Harleen Sharma emerging as the state topper after scoring 646 out of 650 marks (99.38%).
Manimahesh Sharma of Government Senior Secondary School and Satnam Singh of Sri Guru Harkrishan Public School secured the second and third positions respectively with 645 marks each (99.23%).
Out of 7,952 candidates who appeared for the examination, 4,661 students cleared the exam, taking the overall pass percentage to 58.61%.
Girls once again outperformed boys in the board examinations. The overall pass percentage among girls stood at 66.35%, significantly higher than the 54.19% recorded by boys.
Among school categories, aided schools registered the highest pass percentage at 62.54%, followed by government schools at 59.46% and non-government schools at 57.71%.
District-wise, Amritsar topped the state with a pass percentage of 98.41%, closely followed by Ferozepur at 98.39% and Pathankot at 97.99%.
On the other hand, Ludhiana recorded the lowest pass percentage at 89.20%, followed by Sri Muktsar Sahib at 90.46% and Malerkotla at 92.15%. Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar (Mohali) secured the 10th position among the state’s 23 districts with a pass percentage of 95.26%.
