Sehajdeep Singh (Jalandhar) stood second with a timing of 14.6 seconds
05 June, 2026 – Ludhiana : District athlete Tarundeep Singh Bhatia on Thursday clocked 14.48 seconds to win the men’s 110m hurdles on the opening day of the 101st Punjab state senior athletics meet.
The two-day event is being organised at the Guru Nanak Stadium here.
Sehajdeep Singh (Jalandhar) stood second with a timing of 14.6 seconds and Pankaj Pal (Fazilka) clinched the third spot after finishing in 14.99 seconds.
In men’s shot put, Jalandhar’s Dhanveer Singh bagged the first position, followed by Prabhkirpal Singh (Mansa) and Devinder Singh (Patiala). In javelin throw, Robanpreet Singh (Jalandhar) proved to be too strong for his opponents and won top honours. Adarsh Singh (Jalandhar) bagged the second position and Sahiljot Singh Gill (Faridkot) stood third. In 10,000m race, Lovepreet Singh (Fazilka) was the fastest to the finish line, followed by Simran Singh (Jalandhar) and Sahil Sagar (Sangrur).
In 3,000m steeplechase event, a nerve-wrecking competition ended with Patiala’s Bikram Singh coming out on top, clocking 9:54.55 minutes. Gurpinder Singh (Muktsar) stood second with timing of 9:54.96 minutes and Sukhwinder Singh (Fazilka) was third at 10:05.59 minutes.
In women’s 100m sprint, Sumandeep Kaur was the fastest to the finish line with 15.23 seconds. Tasneem Kaur Dhillon (Barnala) and Alfaz Kaur Grewal (Fazilka) clinched the second and third positions, respectively.
In women’s discus throw, Jasmeet Kaur Jagdeo (Malerkotla), Divjot Kaur (Patiala) and Tanu Poonia (Jalandhar) secured the top three positions.
In 2,000m steeplechase, Ramandeep Kaur (Muktsar) and Kajal (Fazilka) grabbed the top two positions.
In the 10,000m race, Jyoti Bala (Mansa) finished well ahead of others to bag first position. Bablu Kaur (Mansa) secured the second position and Jagmeet Kaur (Muktsar) finished third.
