PM Modi to inaugurate the summit today at Bharat Mandapam, marking the start of the 5-day event
16 February, 2026 – New Delhi : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday hailed India’s emergence as a global hub for artificial intelligence as the country hosts the AI Impact Summit Expo 2026, calling it a defining moment that underscores India’s rising leadership in cutting-edge technology.
PM Modi will inaugurate the AI Impact Summit India 2026 at 5 pm on Monday at Bharat Mandapam, marking the start of the five-day event.
In a post on X, the PM said it is “a matter of great pride” that participants from across the world are travelling to India for the summit. He noted that the strong global turnout reflects the strength, talent and potential of India’s youth, and demonstrates the country’s rapid progress in science and technology while contributing meaningfully to global development.
PM Modi said India is bringing the world together to deliberate on the future of AI. This summit is drawing world leaders, industry captains, innovators, policymakers, researchers and technology enthusiasts.
Highlighting the theme — “Sarvajana Hitaya, Sarvajana Sukhaya” (welfare for all, happiness for all) — PM Modi underlined India’s commitment to harnessing artificial intelligence for human-centric progress.
Expressing confidence that deliberations at the AI Impact Summit will enrich global discourse on innovation, collaboration and the responsible use of AI, the PM said, “AI today is transforming several sectors, including healthcare, education, agriculture, governance and enterprise. The AI Impact Summit will enrich global discourse on diverse aspects of AI, such as innovation, collaboration, responsible use and more. I am confident that the outcomes of the Summit will help shape a future that is progressive, innovative and opportunity-driven”.
Acknowledging the contribution of India’s 1.4 billion citizens, PM Modi said the nation stands at the forefront of the AI transformation.
From robust digital public infrastructure and a thriving startup ecosystem to cutting-edge research, India’s advances in artificial intelligence reflect both ambition and responsibility, he added.
