Model Code of conduct now in force

Polls for 23 Zila Parishads and 154 Panchayat Samitis have been pending since May due to floods

28 November, 2025 – Chandigarh : The Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti elections in Punjab are all set to be conducted on December 14.

The counting of votes will be undertaken on December 17.

With the announcement of election date, the model code of conduct comes into effect immediately.

Elections for 23 Zila Parishads and 154 Panchayat Samitis, pending since May, have faced multiple delays due to the severe floods that swept through several districts in August and September.

The polls were first deferred to October and later postponed to December.
