16 March, 2026 – Fazilka : A 20-year-old youth died after allegedly administering a heroin injection at Kattianwali (Chak Arniwala) village in Fazilka district.
The police have booked three women for allegedly supplying the drug, and arrested two of them — a mother and daughter.
According to the FIR lodged by Bimla Rani, the victim’s mother, her son Gurprit Singh had been addicted to heroin. She alleged that on March 7, Rimpal Rani, a resident of the same village, came to their house and informed Gurprit that a fresh consignment of heroin had arrived.
Gurprit allegedly purchased heroin worth Rs 2,000 from her, while her mother Raj Rani handed over the contraband. Bimla Rani said her son administered the heroin injection on March 8, after which he fell unconscious. He was taken to a village doctor, but died on Saturday.
