Raids at LPU, other properties
The searches are being carried out in connection with alleged violations of the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA)
15 April, 2026 – Jalandhar : The Enforcement Directorate team from Delhi on Wednesday conducted raids at multiple premises of the Lovely Group in Jalandhar and Phagwara.
The group is headed by Ashok Mittal, Aam Aadmi Party MP and Deputy Leader of the Rajya Sabha. The searches are being carried out in connection with alleged violations of the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA).
Raids are underway at several locations, including Lovely Professional University, Lovely Autos, Lovely Sweets, and the Lovely Distance Education Centre.
Residential premises and offices linked to Mittal’s family members, including his brothers Ramesh Mittal and Naresh Mittal, are also being searched.
Mittal, founder Chancellor of LPU, is a prominent educationist. Officials, accompanied by central forces, arrived from Delhi and began simultaneous searches across locations.
