Will speak at a public event in New York on the Raksha Bandhan occasion
11 August, 2026 – New Delhi : Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat would be visiting the US, Canada, and the UK from August 25 on the invitation of overseas local associations and organisations.
The RSS announced the programme on Tuesday as part of its ongoing global outreach, which coincides with its Centenary year celebrations.
In the US, Bhagwat would join a major gathering in New York on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan.
New York City would this time be hosting one of the largest and most diverse gatherings of the community ever organized in the United States, as AHEAD Forum (American Hindus for Engagement and Dialogue), along with hundreds of participating cultural, spiritual, service, faith, and community organisations from across the country, presents the Universal Oneness Celebrations in New York City.
“The event marks the celebrations of the Hindu festival of Raksha Bandhan while presenting a contemporary message of unity, civic responsibility, and global harmony. This event will have distinguished faith-based speakers and cultural programs that aptly coincide with the theme of the day. The event will feature Dr. Mohan Bhagwat, Sarsanghchalak (Chief) of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) India, whose address is expected to draw significant national and international interest,” the organizers said in a statement. They described Bhagwat as one of India’s most recognized cultural leaders who rarely speaks at large public events in the United States.
