Said the silence of Aam Aadmi Party leaders on two incidents showed their opposition to the core Sikh principle
09 January, 2026 – Chandigarh : Senior BJP leader Iqbal Singh Lalpura on Thursday demanded the resignation of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and action against former Delhi CM Atishi, alleging insult to Sikh religious sentiments.
Addressing a press conference, Lalpura said the silence of Aam Aadmi Party leaders on two incidents showed their opposition to the core Sikh principle. “One incident involved language allegedly used by Atishi against the Guru Sahibans, while the other related to an unverified video purportedly showing Mann sprinkling liquor in front of a picture of the Guru Sahibans,” he said.
Senior Punjab BJP leaders Jagdeep Singh Cheema, State Media Head Vineet Joshi, and State Spokesperson Pritpal Singh Baliawal were present at the press conference.
Lalpura claimed that the use of derogatory words against the Sikh Guru Sahibans inside the Delhi Assembly had been confirmed by the Speaker himself. He questioned why AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia, and the party’s Sikh leadership had remained silent and why no action was taken.
