India is today on the threshold of becoming a global power. The position brings in its wake formidable challenges to the Nations security and integrity both territorial and civilisational.
Punjab, as a sensitive border state of the Nation, has special needs of enhanced vigilance and security consciousness. Also, being a cradle of the ancient Indian civilisation and multiple religions, the region holds special significance in terms of culture and traditions.
The Punjab Pulse is a think tank dedicated to the study of Punjab in the context of the nation as well as the world. It pursues a policy of propagation of the concept of Punjab, Punjabi and Punjabiat.
The think tank has been created by Col. Jaibans Singh (retd) who is the Director as well as the Editor-in-Chief of its media verticals. S. Satinder Singh, an eminent Chandigarh based lawyer, is the secretary. S. Manjit Singh looks after the administration and functioning. The IT support is provided by S. Paramjit Singh.
The core group of the think tank comprises eminent intellectuals and leaders of civil society from varied fields like academics, defence, law, business and social service.
The objective of the think tank is to disseminate independent and nonpartisan information about Punjab that can educate the reader about the current state of the region. Important aspects of national and international matters are also covered.
The methodology being followed is simple. The current environment is analysed in a non-political and unbiased manner. Articles written by eminent scholars on current subjects are placed in relevant links of the website. Seminars and discussions are held on social media outlets. This facilitates understanding of the issues in the right perspective.
It is emphasised that the views offered by different scholars are entirely their own and they are not motivated by this website in any manner. These articles are also published in many newspapers both English and vernacular.
The think tank provides the benefit of understanding Punjab while obtaining diverse opinions concurrently.
About the Director and Editor-in-Chief, The Punjab Pulse
Colonel (Retired) Jaibans Singh has a varied experience in fields of defence, politics, corporate management, communication, social work. He is a well-known expert of defence and security matters and a social worker dedicated to the cause of the nation in general and Punjab in particular.
Commissioned in the Armoured Corps on 22 December 1979, he has seen operational service in J&K, Punjab, Rajasthan, North East and Sri Lanka among other locations. He has served for seven years with the Indian Army’s Media and Psychological Operations wing in Headquarters Northern command and Army Headquarters.
On retirement he worked a Director of the Asian News International (ANI) as Director Administration and consultant, Strategic affairs
